Question 1

What are your products made from?

Accepted Answer

Our packaging is made from rapidly renewable plant-based materials: bagasse (sugarcane fiber), PLA (corn-based bioplastic), bamboo, and unbleached paper. Nothing petroleum-based, and no polyethylene coatings.

Question 2

Are your products PFAS-free?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Every item in our catalog is certified PFAS-free (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances). We require documentation from every manufacturer we source from.

Question 3

What certifications do your products carry?

Accepted Answer

Our compostable products meet ASTM D6400 (bioplastics) or ASTM D6868 (fiber with bio-coatings) and are BPI certified for commercial composting facilities.

Question 4

What's the difference between compostable and biodegradable?

Accepted Answer

'Biodegradable' has no regulated timeframe — anything eventually biodegrades. 'Compostable' means the product breaks down into non-toxic biomass within a defined period (typically 90–180 days) in a commercial composting facility, per ASTM D6400/D6868.

Question 5

Can I compost these at home?

Accepted Answer

Most items require commercial composting conditions (higher, sustained temperatures). Some fiber products can break down in a well-managed home pile, but for reliable results we recommend a commercial composter. Find one at findacomposter.com.

Question 6

What if my city doesn't have composting?

Accepted Answer

Our products still divert plastic from your supply chain, and they're made from renewable, PFAS-free materials. When landfilled, they won't leach forever chemicals like conventional foodware does.

Question 7

Do you ship samples?

Accepted Answer

Yes — order up to eight free samples with $9.95 flat shipping. Visit our Free Samples page to pick items.

Question 8

How long does shipping take?

Accepted Answer

Standard orders ship within 1–2 business days from our nearest warehouse (Houston TX, Reno NV, Philadelphia PA, or Chicago IL) and typically arrive within 3–7 business days depending on destination.

Question 9

Do you offer wholesale pricing?

Accepted Answer

Yes. For case-quantity and pallet pricing, restaurant groups, distributors, and institutional buyers, contact us at support@thelotusgroup.us or 205-861-0240.

Question 10

Can I get custom-printed packaging with my logo?
